At FIU, the Model UN program is a political science course offered in the spring where students study the art of diplomacy and use their skills to compete in national conferences.
The class is an interactive environment that engrosses students in different aspects of diplomacy and international affairs. Class time will be spent practicing skills such as public speaking, negotiating, and policy writing. During the semester students will participate in two national conferences where they apply the skills they have learned in UN committee simulations. The program also hosts a Model UN conference for local high schools where the FIU Model UN students act as chairs and judges.
