Jeffery Tobin

Biography

Jeff Tobin is a doctoral candidate focusing on organized crime groups and political corruption, with an emphasis on Latin America and Eastern Europe. Jeff has published on Cuba’s political landscape and U.S. foreign policy. He is a graduate of the Latin American and Caribbean Studies program at the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center at FIU, researching corruption, migration, and U.S. foreign policy in the region. Jeff has more than 20 years of experience in media, working as a journalist and editor in several major U.S. markets. He was employed at media outlets in California, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and North Carolina. He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism as well as a bachelor’s degree in political science from Oregon State University.
