Melissa Burgess is a Ph.D. candidate in political science, specializing in the American presidency and political communication. Her work seeks to understand how executive orders function not only as policy tools but also as targeted communications strategies for the White House. Burgess previously earned a B.A. In journalism and a M.A. in political science from Florida International University.
