Mohamed K. Ghumrawi
Mohamed K. Ghumrawi holds a Ph.D. in International Relations (2022) and M.A. in International Studies (2017). He is Assistant Director of the Mohsin and Fauzia Jaffer Center for Muslim World Studies at FIU, the faculty director of the top-ranked FIU Model United Nations program, and the founding faculty director of the “FIU in the Middle East” study abroad program to Jordan, Palestine and Israel. He is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Politics and International Relations, and sits on the Board of Directors of the Jerusalem Peace Institute.
Dr. Ghumrawi’s research includes dynamics surrounding the Palestinian-Israeli question, the Palestinian diaspora, politics and international relations of the Middle East, conflict resolution, peace studies, state formation, foreign policy and security studies. Before completing his Ph.D., he served as an academic advisor in the Green School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at FIU, an APSIA accredited college. In addition, as a Middle Eastern scholar, Dr. Ghumrawi is proud to contribute to FIU’s multicultural and dynamic community and is driven by a passion for advocating for human rights and interfaith dialogue to help uplift marginalized communities and advance global justice. Some of his publications include articles on Islamophobia, as well as two articles on Muslim-Jewish relations, Muslim and Jews in 7th Century Jerusalem (2016) and Muslim-Sephardi Relations (2014).
