Alejandro is a PhD student in the political science program at Florida International University. His research focuses on questions concerning democratic theory, social liberalism, federalism, and identity politics. In particular, his research explores the idea of liberal neutrality in the formation of social institutions that seek to preserve ideals of freedom and equality in liberal democratic societies. Alejandro received his dual degree in International Affairs (B.S.) and Philosophy (B.A.) from Florida State University where the majority of his coursework was in Political Philosophy, Logic, Ethics, Metaphysics, and Sociology.
