Soon after receiving my BA in international relations at Beloit College in 2015, I decided to pursue my Doctorate degree in the Fall of that same year. This decision was in large part fueled by my work as a McNair Scholar and Research Assistant at the Council on Hemispheric Affairs (COHA), where I wrote extensively about Caribbean politics. Now a graduate student in FIUs joint degree program in International Relations (PhD) and Latin America and Caribbean Studies (MA), I hope to expand my knowledge on small (Caribbean) island economies and understand how foreign policy impacts these economies and the people living in them.
