Originally from Bowling Green, KY, I received my B.A. and M.A. in Economics from Western Kentucky University. Between those degrees, I worked six years as a Sr. Legislative Aide on Capitol Hill, where I focused on economic and national security policy. During this time in Washington, D.C., I also had the opportunity to attend the US Naval War College. In 2014 I entered the International Relations Ph.D. program at Florida International University, where I will further my interests in economic systems and international relations. I am Majoring in Security Studies and Foreign Policy and Minoring in International Political Economy. Specifically, I am developing a model that measures the nexus of international system, economics, and politics to help answer why bilateral trade agreements happen.
