Mr. Barber has an MA in Asian Studies from FIU, MS in Geography from Oklahoma State University, and BA in Geography from the University of Central Oklahoma. Mr. Barber lived in Japan for nine years, working in international HR management consulting before coming to FIU. Subdisciplinary interests are in energy security, international resource management, inter-civilizational relations, and geopolitical theories. Mr. Barber's regional research interests focus on Japanese politics and its relations with the rest of Asia.
