Professor Evans received his PhD in Political Science from the University of California, Davis (2011). His teaching and research interests focus on the Presidency, Congress and political parties. He is particularly interested in inter-branch relations and presidential power.
His research is featured in several scholarly journals. For instance, his work on presidential signing statements, which is the central focus of his research agenda, has been published in Congress and the Presidency. And his research investigating the influence of party platforms on perceptions of presidential candidates' policy positions (with Elizabeth Simas) can be found in Political Research Quarterly.
