Neil Gonzalez, Class of 1993, is President of The Law Offices of Neil Gonzalez & Associates. Building his own firm, Mr. Gonzalez now has offices in Miami, Orlando and Tampa. Involved predominately in insurance litigation, he has been lead counsel in over 200 trials and numerous appeals. Mr. Gonzalez attended St. Thomas University and earned his law degree in 1996.
Mario E. Lopez, Class of 1992, is head of the General Liability/Property Division at Vernis & Bowling of Miami, P.A. He attended Nova Southeastern University's Law School and earned his J.D. in 1995. Mr. Lopez litigates in personal injury, premises liability, medical malpractice and worked on the chinese drywall cases. He regularly volunteers as a mock trial judge for the high school competitions.
Carlos B. Castillo, Class of 1988, is partner in DiBello, Lopez & Castillo, P.A., a Coral Gables law firm. Mr. Castillo earned his J.D. at the University of Miami before joining White & Case, where he worked for more than ten years. He served in the U.S. Attorney's Office from 2002-2005, working in the Major Crimes section and serving as Special Counsel to the U.S. Attorney on legal and policy matters. Mr. Castillo has maintained close ties with FIU, serving on the FIU Foundation Board of Directors and as a lifetime member of the FIU Alumni Association.
Daniel O. Mena, Class of 1992, is a founding partner of Avila Rodriguez Hernandez Mena & Ferri LLP, a Miami firm specializing in domestic and international business and commercial litigation in Miami. He has been recognized as a Florida Super Lawyer and in The Best Lawyers in America in 2010 and 2011. Following graduation from FIU, Mr. Mena completed his law degree at the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1995.
Angela T. Puentes-Leon, Class of 1998, is a shareholder with Carlton Fields in their Miami office. Ms. Puentes-Leon litigates individual and mass tort matters in state and federal courts in products liability and commercial matters. She is a lifetime member of the FIU Alumni Association and on the FIU President's Council. After her bachelor's degree, Ms. Puentes-Leon completed her law degree at the University of Miami (2001).
