Ayesha Quirke, who earned her bachelor's degree in International Relations in 2005, has been awarded the Thomas R. Pickering Graduate Foreign Affairs Fellowship. The Fellowship is funded by the U.S. Department of State. Ayesha will begin her Master’s in International Policy Studies at the Monterey Institute of International Studies next Fall after spending the summer at Middlebury College's Arabic Language School. In addition to financial support for her graduate education, the Pickering Fellowship will allow Ayesha to participate in two summer internships: one at the State Department in Washington D.C. and another at a U.S. Embassy abroad. Ayesha graduated from FIU cum laude with a certificate in Women's Studies. She went on to complete the FIU Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Consensus Building in 2007. Ayesha's goal is to join the Foreign Service as a Public Diplomacy Officer. Congratulations, Ayesha!
